IRONATE - A
NON-METALLIC MONOLITHIC FLOOR TOPPING HARDENER
PRODUCT
IRONATE-A is a non-metallic, non-corrosive, antistatic, non-magnetic, inert floor topping hardener (dry shake on type) with high density aggregates and active powder. It is available as a component which mixes easily with Ordinary Portland cement of all grades, and also as a Ready-to-use Floor hardener.
On proper application it produces a tough, abrasion resistant, non-skid, near to impervious, long-wearing surface that is static-dispersing and spark resistant. It improves the resistance of the floor to oil, grease, mild acids & alkalies, improves impact reistance and greatly reduces dusting of the floor.
USES
- Light to heavy duty Industrial Floors.
- Warehouses
- Godowns
- D.M. Plants Parking area Loading Bays Machine shops
- Workshops
- Decks, Ramps
- Breweries & Laboratories floor
- Desalination plants
- Ideal substitute to Normal I.P.S. floor
ADVANTAGES
- Economical
- Eliminates screed/granolithic topping
- Anti-static
- Oil, grease reistant floor
- Inert, Non Toxic
- Hard wearing surface
- Reduces dusting Non-magnetic
- Increase Impact resistance
- Non-corrosive
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Surface preparation : Surface should be free from dirt, oil, laitance, grease, loose particles etc. When applying on old concrete; ensure that the sub-basae is sound and surface properly cleaned. Cracks, joints, loose scales etc. should be properly repaired before application. Minimum 50mm. thinckness is recommended in such cases.
The base concrete should have minimum compressive strength of 150 kg per sq. cm. Inorder to take full advantage of the properties of Ironate-A, it is essential to control the water : cement ratio of the concrete mix (maximum 0.48). Use CEMWET WRA-1 to achieve good workability & high strength at controlled w/c ratio.
Application : When IRONATE-A compound is to be used, dry mix 2 parts IRONATE- and 1 part O.P.C. by weight until a uniform colour mix is obtained. Ready-to-use IRONATE-A is to be applied directly.
Timing of application is very important. Application of mix (or ready-to-use IRONATE-A) should begin as soon as the surface water has disappeared but the concrete surface is still wet. Excess surface water will result in lower strength while insufficient moisture will show crazy cracks, pitting and flaking of the surface.
Sprinkle the material evenly on the levelled surface starting from the panel/bay edges. The first shake should consist of half to two-thirds of the total to be applied. Allow the first shake to absorb moisture and float the surface. Immediately after floating, shake on the rest of the material evenly and trowel it to a smooth finish. If a power trowel is used, ensure that the surface is sufficiently hardened to prevent sinking and damage to the surface. Use of a bridge to shake on the material, is recommended in case of large/end panels.
CURING : Begin curing as soon as possible after finishing but without marring the surface. Alternatively apply cure well, resin based curring compound. In case of conventional curing, atleast 14 days curing is recommended.
CONSUMPTION : 2 kg to 7 kg per sq. m. depending on the use of the floor.
STORAGE : Store in a cool, dry place.
PACKING : 50 Kg bags.
GRADES AVAILABLE : Grade A (250% strength of Normal Concrete), Grade 8 (150% strength of Normal Concrete)
